Abeni Boyer is a dancer, performer, and choreographer currently studying dance at Texas State University. Her goal is to obtain a BA in Dance with a minor in Business. Abeni is very passionate about creativity and how to use movement to express it.

At the age of three, Ms. Boyer began her training at Bay Area School of Dance. There she learned ballet, tap, jazz, pom, twirling, and hip-hop. Boyer then began training at a second studio, Contempo Dance Studio, when she entered 7th grade. At that studio, Abeni trained in pointe and several technique classes with Monica Coleman. During her training, she worked with many teachers such as Sara Wise, Shirley Hilton, Angela Tello, Kathryn Cruz, and Ashley Johnson-Smith. While she took classes at these studios, Abeni served as a student teacher during the summer at Contempo where she helped out with many classes including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, technique, styles and dynamics, and acrobatics.

Abeni now studies at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. In 2023, Abeni performed in A Clear Place in Megan Moss’ piece It’s About Four Minutes Long. In 2024, she performed in Interconnected in a piece by Alyssa Williams titled Recuerdos Para Siempre. As a result of her studies, Abeni has been a member of the Dean’s List five times and has been inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta Society.
